Shred Vault unveiled the newest iteration of its innovative document destruction kiosk this week, marking the third major upgrade cycle in 5 years.
“You learn a lot of lessons going from concept to prototype to field testing,” said founder Jim Aschoff. “And while we’re dedicated to constant improvement, we’re also confident our new model will fully support our continued expansion.”
Among the improvements to the kiosk Aschoff referenced are:
- Upgraded cameras for transaction image capture
- Replacing the handheld scanners with a built-in device
- Improved telemetry to report operational functionality in real time
- Upgraded interactive touchscreen
- Two-factor remote access for content removal
- The addition of a Shred Vault Bag dispenser
- The addition of a flatscreen advertising display
Shred Vault CEO and founder Brian Gubbels echoed Aschoff’s confidence, adding that the company had expected the need for updates and improvements on the way to success.
“We knew we were taking a new approach,” said Gubbels, “and that we’d have to learn some things by trial and error. To go from nothing five years ago, to a model that delivers a frictionless experience for consumers and our retail partners is better than we could have hoped.
