Shred Vault is a secure, sustainable shredding solution for consumers and businesses alike. With our patented kiosk technology we offer a convenient location for the dropping off small volumes of paper for shredding, and with our high security shredding facilities and our high-speed mobile shredding trucks we offer convenient solutions for large and/or commercial and consumer shredding needs.

Meet the Team:

Brian Gubbels

Founder and CEO

Brian provides over 25 years’ experience in both the data destruction and recycling industries. Commencing with the co-Founding of First Star Fiber, he served as the company’s President and led the company to becoming one of the largest materials recovery operations in the region. Following Firstar Fiber, Brian acquired and lead DataShield to becoming one of the largest independent data destruction firms in the country. As a result of this success, as well as his continuing community involvement, Brian was also recognized as Entrepreneur of the Year by Midland Business Journal. Brian comes to his current role as Shred Vault President after spending several years co-inventing and perfecting the multi-patented Shred Vault kiosk system, and now turns his proven entrepreneurial acumen and industry expertise to deploying the system worldwide. With a work ethic that embraces the importance of giving, Brian has participated over the years in the leadership of multiple Omaha community organizations, including The Greater Omaha Chamber, the Social Settlement Association, the Platte Institute, The TriFaith Organization, Strategic Air and Space Museum, and the Nebraska Recycling Association.

Michael Jack

Chief Product Officer

Mike brings to Shred Vault his remarkable track record managing production and marketing for one of the most well-known kiosk networks, Coinstar, where he was additionally tasked with the built-out of the largest Bitcoin ATM and non-bank cash accepting kiosk networks in the world. His success in the kiosk sector followed his earlier achievements leading operations, projects, and technology for a number of notable start-ups, as well as for major organizations such as General Electric and Fireman’s Fund Insurance. As Shred Vault’s Chief Product Officer, Mike’s main focus is building out the kiosk network and maximizing the customer experience. Mike holds an undergraduate honors degree from Indiana University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina.

James Aschoff

Chief Operating Officer

A highly respected pioneer of the secure data destruction industry, Jim is the co-inventor of the Shred Vault patented kiosk. Having begun his industry involvement more than 25 years ago as managing partner of a single truck shredding operation, Jim successfully grew his company into a multi-state/multi-facility organization using both organic growth, strategic partnerships, and multiple strategic acquisitions. He is widely recognized as the first to use strategic regional consolidations to increase valuation. Now serving as Shred Vault’s Chief Operating Officer, Jim has turned his penchant for innovation, successful track record, and astute industry acumen on the success of Shred Vault’s national rollout. Prior to launching his career in the secure information destruction industry, Jim attended the University of Iowa, earning a master’s in business administration and spent 9 years of service in the U.S. military.

Robert Johnson CSDS, CIPP/US

Data Protection Officer

In his capacity as Principal Advocate at Privata Vox, LLC, Bob serves as Shred Vault’s Data Protection Officer (DPO) and is responsible for the firm’s compliance with all data and privacy regulations. Prior to his current role, Bob founded and led the data destruction industry’s global trade organization for three decades, where he architected what remains the most widely recognized data disposition certification standard in the world. Bob is also a highly sought speaker and frequent author on subjects including data protection and privacy regulations, policy development and compliance strategies, and is an i-SIGMA accredited Certified Secure Destruction Specialist and an IAPP accredited Certified Information Privacy Professional/United States.
